My path has not been linear
Fresh out of college, I planned to pursue a PhD in Spanish literature. That changed after I started writing for a small magazine while I taught English in Madrid, Spain, which led me to pursue a masters degree at the Medill School of Journalism. Since then, I’ve worked in broadcast television, international news, travel media, fintech and affiliate marketing. Each stop taught me something, and I apply that varied experience to solve problems in creative ways.
Early in my career, I reported on camera, but for the last decade, I’ve focused on strategy more than on bylines. These days, I work as a marketing consultant and copywriter, with clients such as Message Lab, Dotdash Meredith and Crew Capital, to name a few. I also conduct SEO audits and outline strategies for businesses to help them boost their search rankings.
My editorial work has appeared in The New York Times, Wired, SFGate, Houston Chronicle, Condé Nast Traveler, Learnvest, Columbia Journalism Review, Travel + Leisure, Coastal Living, Thrillist, Garuda Indonesia Colours Magazine and the Huffington Post. These days, I pursue only editorial passion projects — but you can be sure I’m passionate about what I write if you see my byline.

My Story

Mostly, my blog posts are about projects I’m working on or the state of media and the work I do. Everyone needs an editor, including me, and without one here, there are bound to be typos and half-baked thoughts.
